Having trouble restoring my Bitcoin wallet from seed using Electrum
I have an electrum wallet on my laptop, when I try and send bitcoin it asks me for a password. I have no recollection of ever using/creating one for electrum (other than my seed.) I tried to restore from seed, but the next button is greyed out when i enter it. Indicating the seed is wrong, yet I copied it verbatim and have triple and quadruple checked it. NOTE: It is 25 words long, usually they are 12? Not sure if this is an issue. So basically I don't know the password OR the seed, but I still have the wallet open in electrum. Do I have any hope of recovering? Or am i doomed? It has a significant amount of money, so any help would be immensely appreciated.
Hi, I'm new to this space, forgive my ignorance. Hoping someone can help. I use ledger live on my phone, I have a chromebook so I only access via my phone. I have two wallets, one ethereum and one bitcoin. a few months ago my bitcoin wallet stopped synchronizing, the ethereum wallet says synchronized. How can I fix this?
My bitcoin wallet gets “hacked” and I declare bankruptcy while holding value in a more anonymous wallet. What’s stopping this?
Say you have crypto assets that are being held at a loss, or otherwise. You let your account get “hacked”, while you actually transfer the amount to say, Monero. Then you would declare bankruptcy, convert the Monero to cash, etc. There has to be something stopping this, right?
I would like to empty my bitcoin wallet from my ledger account for now, can I do this by pressing 'Max' int he amount/max section? Will this clear my account and include the fees in this? I can't accidentally send more bitcoin than I have can I? ie the transfer charge goes up while moving the bitcoin out? Thanks
Found my bitcoin wallet address, dont know where/how to access it....
Bare with me here, it's been a log time since I even looked at bitcoin but recently remembered I tried to setup a mining machine back in 2013. I found my account to Slush's Pool, and in there, I found my bitcoin wallet address. it starts with "1CXP" The issue I have now is, where/how the hell do I access my wallet? I don't remember where I set it up, or if it was something local to the machine I was using at the time. Hell, I don't even know if I have anything in it, but I'd like to find out.
Checking my bitcoin wallet after two years and I find that all my bitcoin is gone (0.5 bitcoin)
After checking my bitcoin account after two years, 0.00010757 of a bitcoin remains even though I explicitly remember having half a bitcoin left. My first thought someone somehow stole it. But after looking through my transaction history, it seems that there were additional transactions made alongside the transactions that were made before. Here is a link to a chart of my last three transactions made to CoinBase: https://i.stack.imgur.com/8sZIG.png The three transactions highlighted in green were the ones that were supposed to happen but I noticed that these other mysterious transactions made alongside them also had the same IDs as the intentional transactions. The three that aren't highlighted add up to the amount that I remembered that I had two years ago, appx. 0.50055605 bitcoin. I'm not sure what these random transactions are and I'm not sure why after two years, my .5 bitcoin just vanished. I thought that the matching IDs would give me some sort of clue and it seems like these random transactions are going to a different address. Were they supposed to be sent back to my own wallet or something? Here are the three IDs respectively: f034f9408736868ed5d070fb8fe6b5674881573815be16b791782fcdcec5d6e6 ebe2b9acce094d175577efedf8d5a1edc83ccbf5291e155a12af1c2dc5e6dd10 9cdd52384c465acd38141e6ead748cb85f74e8afef8781989e5c3592cb6bc493 I am also currently using the Bitcoin-Qt client. After reading about it it seems like bitcoin has this change system and I think that that is probably the culprit. I looked through my Bitcoin-Qt client and I see no additional addresses. Anyone have any ideas? Edit: I went and tried validating the three addresses that murdocsvk posted but it said that they weren't mine. Would it be worth it to try to salvagewallet? I don't have any more backups so this is the only copy I have.
Wall of coins scammed/refusing to credit my bitcoin wallet after sending a payment of $4200 to them
This scam company wall of coins received two separate deposits of $1700 and $2500 from me and they keep promising to deliver the bitcoin but it is well over 2weeks and they keep stalling ....several attempts to reach out to support is fruitless, all they keep saying is " you have sent the right receipt and your wallet would be credited soon but nothing is being done.
